In the year 20XX, a huge and mysterious flower called "Darol" suddenly appears in Japan. Volunteers like Rita, a resourceful but lonely young woman who does not fit in with her peers, are dispatched to help clean up and rebuild. But one day, Darol suddenly emits a deafening signal, and its surrounding fruit bursts, revealing hordes of creatures that quickly slaughter everyone. It might work if Rita was a more appealing protagonist, capable of wringing out gallows humour or personal tragedy from her predicament. Apart from an unconvincingly dumped backstory about parental abuse, though, she is largely a vehement-looking blank.

The animation was attractive, more stylistic rather than realistic, especially the people in the movie. The premise was interesting with a Groundhog-Day like time loop. The ending was more bittersweet instead of the the tragic ones often seen in anime movies.
