Jay W @RT52162311 3 days ago When looking through options for some vintage Halloween spooky movies, one with John Wayne certainly stands out. So, I decided to give it a watch, and man it was rough to get through. You can forgive some of the technical aspects of it; it is a really old movie. The framing of shots are off, the cameraman feels like he is looking the wrong way. The story and delivery make Scooby-Doo feel like True Detective. People literally just stumble upon plot points one after another. They make all the dumb decisions associated with horror plus some bonus ones. The horse is quite possibly the smartest one there. And Blue Washington as Clarence...I know it was a different time. But man, I feel dirty for having seen this movie. I'm not one to call a movie racist, but I'll call it as I see it. This movie actually taught me new slurs I didn't know existed. The stunts were cool though. See more ashley h @ashleyhobgood87 Jul 15, 2016 Haunted Gold is a decent film. It is about John and Janet who get a weird letter telling them to go to a ghost town which has an abandoned mine. John Wayne and Sheila Terry give good performances. The screenplay is a little slow in places. Mack V. Wright did an alright job directing this movie. I liked this motion picture because of the adventure and mystery.
