Tennant will rightly earn a Bafta nomination for this, but Molokwu, McCartney and McNulty also do excellent work. Go to Full Review

Time asks difficult moral questions about justice and redemption, and its reach is ambitious. In empathising with the prisoners, it would be easy to lose sight of the victims, but the show is too expertly balanced to fall into that trap. Go to Full Review

The performances of the young actors playing these teenagers are startlingly good. Go to Full Review

Time is a masterclass in economy: a show that understands understatement and has respect for the value of your time. Go to Full Review

A raw, astonishing piece that deserves to be a Bafta magnet. Go to Full Review

McGovern’s big old sleeve-worn heart often ends up steering him away from the full grimness of his own implications. Either way, the latest Time demonstrates that his long-standing ploy of both showing and telling still makes for riveting television. Go to Full Review

Leon H @RT13589101 23 hrs ago Jimmy McGovern, misery meister in chief for the BBC, has done it again with another great limited series. There's not a second of wasted screen time as the story pulls you in, ably assisted by fine acting across the board. I would like to say that the major turning point of the first episode relied on the premise that only one prison officer would be present for an unpredictable and potentially dangerous conflict resolution meeting. That minor grumble aside, this is masterfully done and probably the best drama the BBC will produce this year. See more Vicki F @PerfectFitz 6 days ago There has NEVER been a program that is like Time but Season 3 deserves every single award available. The story line is raw, but perfectly executed by every single actor. There's nothing like it! See more Noel K @nollaig Oct 21, 2026 Third season of the most heart wrenching, gut wracking series that I have ever seen! From beginning to end, this series has produced some of the best performances that you you will ever witness. The realism is tangible as is the sadness, desperation and happiness that each episode produces. I was wrecked after watching this show! See more Dave M @mevad3 Oct 18, 2026 Decent story, but as usual from the BBC and this writer in particular very biased against white people,it spent too much effort trying to get their pro immigration message over to people who just want to watch a good plot and not get wrapped up in politics. The prison was full of white indigenous boys, not one non white and the only two black boys turned out to be angels. I just wish everyone was equally represented. Shame as David Tennant deserves better. See more Jacob W @RT17896586 Oct 12, 2026 The BBC once again deliver a high end drama. Something that the BBC are good at. Care of Jimmy M this has a A list cast and while it’s only three parts it packs a punch. Look out for this at the BAFTAS See more Jo F @RT60258522 Oct 12, 2026 I've only watched series 3. Gritty dramas don't normally entertain me, but I was absolutely gripped, and watched the 3 episodes back-to-back, I couldn't stop. The emotions the script and actors made me feel were like it was real life, I was genuinely enthralled, shocked, moved and devastated from beginning to end. Now of course, I will have to watch series 1 and 2, and if they are anywhere near as intense as the 3rd series I will need to slip a Disney feel good movie in between them to keep my emotions in-check. Amazing writing and amazing acting. See more Read all reviews
