Mike P @RT09890132 Oct 24, 2026 Four adult sisters come home for Christmas to meet with their dying father and his new wife...And all hell breaks loose...The dad accuses the wife of poisoning him; the sisters accuse each other of various crimes...Accusations and recriminations get hurled across the dinner table, and pretty soon people start dropping dead. There's an excellent cast here, (Julie Harris, Jessica Walter, Sally Field); wasted in this dated soap opera thriller; an early 70s protoslasher, brought to us by Aaron Spelling...With bad acting, (in spite of the cast), weak plot construction, and clumsy scripting. Overall it's pretty much a disaster. A lot of people have affection for this old tv movie, but that's mostly based in nostalgia, not the result of a movie which still works, because this doesn't. See more Dec 25, 2017 Has very cool cover art with a Alice Sweet Alice style raincoat and a Prowler style pitchfork. The movie is a who dunnit thriller with some slasher elements but no gore because itÂ’s made for tv. Several sisters come into a house with their step mom and father and somebody is killing them off. At the end of the day there are much better similar movies to this. See more Aug 28, 2014 Aaron Spelling's made-for-television horror/suspense productions are in a class all their own. While this is far from the best of the lot, it is definitely worth watching. There is some good suspense to be found in this movie, as well as some decent acting and a creepy atmosphere. Sally Field and Eleanor Parker steal the show. See more Feb 9, 2014 Interesting little TV flick that manages to hold a little entertainment value despite the predictability. There are some fun thrills, twists, and kills, while straying away from normal horror stupidity that's so commonly found. It may be a little cheap, but overall, it's enjoyable. See more Dec 14, 2012 Good little proto-slasher, shame about the lack of snow though. See more May 31, 2012 This Joseph Stefano scripted ABC movie of the week seems to have a lot of fans but it hasn't aged well. Four sisters return to spend Christmas with their ailing father, the legendary Walter Brennan. He tells them his new bride Julie Harris is planning to off him to get her hands on the estate. When a raincoat wearing killer starts bumping off the sisters, paranoia strikes. It's most noteworthy for prefiguring the slasher genre by a few years but it suffers from getting bogged down in TV exposition. For curious horror fans only. See more Read all reviews
