Ultimately, as an entry-level introduction to the genre for tweens and younger teens, R.L. Stine's Pumpkinhead 2 is perfectly serviceable, offering an modest assortment of spooky season scares without tipping into genuinely frightening territory. Go to Full Review

The sense of originality is a bit lower this time around, but even so, Pumpkinhead 2 is a fine patchwork of familiar and popular ideas. Go to Full Review

I love the vibe, and have no problem recognizing that the choices I may not love are not made for me. I am not the key demographic for this movie; Kids are. As a result, some things are more cartoonish than gory… as they should be! Go to Full Review

Tiffany G @RT23468976 Oct 23, 2026 Review: wp.me/p65txm-iM0/#Pumpkinhead2 See more TheMovieSearch R @TheMovieSearch Oct 17, 2026 Pumpkinhead 2 struggles to live up to the original. The first film had me completely focused, but this sequel was rougher to get through. I did not find it as entertaining, and the storytelling kept bouncing back and forth instead of moving toward a clear direction. It felt like the movie could not decide what it wanted to be, making it difficult to stay engaged. The young actor playing the main character was fully invested and gave the role everything he had. His performance stood out, and he pulled out all the stops. Unfortunately, the screenplay lacked the focus needed to make the story work. There was far too much Pumpkinhead material for my taste. Instead of using the creature to build suspense, the film kept throwing more of it at the audience until it became excessive. I wish it had followed the original's approach, keeping the story focused and letting the horror carry the tension. It has potential, but never held my attention like the first film. See more Melissa L @Agent99 Oct 12, 2026 I would recommend this to not only kids and teens, but also "young-at-heart" adults...or people who don't generally like Halloween horror. I watched the first one last year, and was eagerly awaiting this sequel. I wasn't disappointed. See more Anthony T @Straight2VOD Oct 11, 2026 In terms of sequels this one is not that bad. Not really much going on here but the tease at what the franchise could be cooking u next has me intrigued.
