Par H @Parhwy 20h I had hope for this film on seeing it on my Prime, learning it is a Singaporean/Australian collab… That hope lasted less than 15 minutes. By 30, I had turned it off. Lead has a poor American accent (she’s an Australian actor). I turned it off at that soccer scene. Just abysmal. A robot shoots a player dead during a live stream… You can feel the budget constraining the production in terms of what is not happening in the story and on the screen… or it's a poverty of creativity. A robot kills someone… so everyone stands around, everyone: players, robot, film crew. With no planning, I watched Metropolis 24 hours after this cold mess and those 1927 actors had more realism than this example directorial absenteeism. The 2011 CGI is okay; some shadows were missing. This could have been such a showcase of Singapore and a decent message about AI/Robotics, instead it’s a Did Not Finish (DNF). See more Eldest S Aug 9 I love bad movies and this one was particularly bad. It was an entire film of bad actors who had less survival instincts than someone in slasher. At several points, the robots killed someone and people just stood around staring at it like pigeons. The CGI made stop-motion look good, but at least the robots acted like robots. I'll give it half a star for Lani John Tupu. He was the only saving grace of this film and was the only actor capable of making me feel like he was enjoying himself and not just a terrible actor. See more 07/27/2018 Unlike the room and air collision; robotropolis tries so hard to be interesting and edgy that you can't even watch it ironically and enjoy it. Stay away from this movie at all costs. [1/10] See more 03/12/2017 acting great i believe other get pay giving this low review See more 06/11/2016 Not the absolute worst movie ever, but it tries. For a good laugh, watch the scene of the soccer player who gets killed. The extras mill around like lost sheep until the director finally woke from his nap and told them to 'act angry' because "their buddy was just killed." I hope the abysmal acting on their part was a misguided attempt to pressure the company to pay them better, rather than a genuine attempt at acting. This film checks all the boxes for what a sci-fi action film should have, but that's all it does. The end result is mediocre at best. See more 11/12/2014 The most infuriating film I've ever seen. Pray you're never trapped on an evil robot murder island with these utter morons/emotionless drones (not referring to the robots). See more Read all reviews
