With a stronger focus on its settings and themes, this could have been an interesting film. As it stands, although The Tearsmith is visually interesting this is undermined by a mediocre script and forgettable story. Go to Full Review

This is that movie that feels like a car crash that you simply can’t look away from. You love it and you hate it but once you start it you can’t stop it. Go to Full Review

Twilight meets the After series in this tortured teen romance from Italy that features an excellent lead performance and murky undertones of childhood loss and trauma. Go to Full Review

Overall, The Tearsmith is a teen romance suitable for younger audiences who aren’t old enough to know any better. Go to Full Review

2/10
The Tearsmith is an utterly confusing, absolutely uninteresting mess of a movie. With no redeeming qualities, one can only hope that these clearly passionate teenage actors get more chances to participate in projects worthy of their time. Go to Full Review

The Tearsmith doesn’t really ever address the potential ickiness of this... Maybe this theme found fuller expression in the novel, but in the film, it can’t align itself with the overdone riffing on fairy tales, wolves, and innocent damsels. Go to Full Review

Noris C @RT99073212 1 day ago i wouldnt reccomend this movie. slow paced, predictible plot and as far as romance movies go there wasnt that much romance to satisify watching this movie. Also very unrealistic scenario and the fact when she gave her testimony everyone started clapping and she ran out. She told Rigel "We won" you didnt win anything that was day one of the trial. Also when she was tied up why couldnt see she Rigel? Her hands and body were tied up. She didnt have a blindfold? Also many plot holes. Next, i dont think the casting of the movie is apporpriate as the lesbian plot was very very predictible as Miki looked like a lesbian. Last thing, they jumped of the bridge at the end when Lionel was chasing them with the car. Why? Move to the side. Also quite bad acting. See more Roven B @cinnephile.01 Jul 1, 2026 I just cannot believe this isn't a fever dream or a Wattpad story. Wth did I actually watch?! See more Dakota G @RT13124546 May 31, 2026
I have watched AI slop better than this film. I don’t give a fuck that you have trauma bonded together and that technically speaking they aren’t siblings but it is still weird. Plot wise there is a displacement of zero in this film you can start at the beginning and skip to the end and nothing happens. Nica is a classic whattpad Y/n and the best way to describe Rigel is as a combination between Sombr and megumi fushiguro.
Additionally the side characters have a total of a spoons worth of personality combined. It’s getting depressing realising how almost none of them are relevant to the plot.
I am completely convinced that both main character are frequent exhibitionist with a voyeurism kink because why are you grabbing eachother in the middle of the hallway for god knows who to see. The lack of consent in this film borders on fetishism. It’s clear no one payed attention in year 9 PSHCE.
Also a note to Nica please decide whether Rigel is a Wolf, a flame or a tearsmith and stick to it. See more Bostyn H @RT77097320 May 24, 2026 This was a great movie but it did make me cry a little bit 😂 overall great movie I have watched it multiple times See more Monica W @RT72879225 May 13, 2026 The movie was quite good. But I feel that they could have done better by giving us a background story of the male staring. Throughout the movie I was wondering whether he was that wolf which was lurking when the female lead and her parents had an accident There were many signs indicating that it can be a "Wolf love story" like many mentions of the wolf and that made me anticipate a wolf love story but no it wasn't.
