The series really pops whenever it plunks “outsider” Carolyn – portrayed with magnetism, nuance and an ethereal quality by Pidgeon. Go to Full Review

With only a few dips into crass sensationalism, this love story starring Paul Anthony Kelly and a standout star-is-born Sarah Pidgeon lets us share in John and Carolyn’s one brief shining moment and ache for what might have been. Go to Full Review

...what emerges on screen is an endless, drab slog charting what feels like every moment, no matter how narratively pointless, of the couple’s pre-relationship situations, courtship and marriage. Go to Full Review

Superficial and sycophantic, it's a cautionary Cinderella fable embellished with trimmings of 'The Crown' and wrapped with nods to Hallmark movies - except, unlike Hallmark movies - this has a tragic ending. Go to Full Review

This series is magnetic and moving. Love Story weaves swoony romance, harrowing history, and intriguing character dynamics into a classic love story where we know the tragic ending. Go to Full Review

Ken C @KenCobb61 3h It's an enjoyable, romantic show. Beautiful to look at and very stylish, as all of Ryan Murphy's shows are. The way they filmed John and Carolyn together, with closeups on their faces, makes it seem very intimate. They did a great job of picking the main actors, they really look a lot like the real people. The big exception to that is Naomi Watts as Jacky; I looked at her and thought, is that supposed to be Jacky? The scenes at Kennedy family functions really drive home how difficult it would be for an outsider to fit in, and what a tough woman Carolyn had to be to take it. John comes across as well-meaning but forgetful and somewhat irresponsible. Overall they did a great job, but I think Sarah Pidgeon is the real standout as Carolyn. See more Olaf N. @olafn 2d So good! The 90s nostalgia, every detail is perfection. Great acting (maybe except Naomi Watts as Jackie O). See more Cass M @Kazik61 2d This is okay. We enjoy it so far but not exciting. See more Grace M @Monikamisiu 2d Enjoying seeing this. See more Steven R @Goldiebear 3d This movie is personal because I worked on 7th Avenue during this time and had many friends that worked at Calvin Klein. The details were spot on how the offices at Calvin looked with its stalk white and chocolate wood floors. Whenever I wanted to go to one of the shows my friend would always say....I have to check with Caroline. The actor that plays JFK Jr. is such an authentic heart throb that you can't take your eyes off of him. The tender, playful and sometimes turbulence of their relationship plays out as one of the most beautiful love stories captured on film. I did 5 episodes and one was better than the next. Can't wait for the wedding and unfortunately the tragic ending. See more Matt L @Mattliptak 4d A compelling limited series, Love Story: JFK Jr. and Carolyn Bessette goes beyond a typical biopic. Sarah Pidgeon shines as Carolyn, bringing real depth to a woman overwhelmed by fame and constant media pressure, while Paul Anthony Kelly is pretty good in support, adding balance to the story. The series digs into lesser-known details behind the relationship, showing both the glamour and the strain. It also paints JFK Jr. in a less flattering light—at times coming across as wimpy and somewhat out of his depth—which adds a different perspective to the story. It doesn’t shy away from controversy either, with portrayals that may change how some figures are viewed. In the end, it’s a tragic love story told with emotion and perspective—well worth the watch.
