I was blown away at how such a simple plot packs such an emotional punch but it does due in part to phenomenal acting by both female leads & a wonderful supporting cast. See more Yash B @yashbansal 3d I had the pleasure of seeing the Houston-based indie film "Charliebird" over the weekend, where the screening was followed by a great Q&A with a few members of the cast and crew. This is a heartfelt and intimate story that I found engaging. The story often is sad and heavy, but there are moments of humor and hope that really make it feel like a human story. One of the things lead actress and writer Samantha Smart said was that it's a movie for everyone, and I really do agree with that sentiment, as everyone can find something to attach themselves to in this story. I liked some of the creative choices in the way the film was made, and while I do feel elements of the story feel a bit familiar, there is a lot that makes it feel very personal, which I think is commendable. Overall, I liked this indie film and am glad I was able to support it, as it also inspired me as a filmmaker and made me feel a wide variety of beautiful emotions. See more Read all reviews
