Marco L @decatur555 Jul 1 Exit Wounds is a terrible action film built almost entirely as a Steven Seagal showcase. The story is the most worn-out setup imaginable: a rebellious Detroit cop who does not follow the rules uncovers corruption inside the police department, surrounded by suspicious partners, drug trafficking, betrayals, chases and shootouts. The problem is that Seagal does not have enough charisma to carry the film, and his action scenes are edited to make him look invincible without generating real tension. DMX, Anthony Anderson and Michael Jai White bring more life than the star, but everything is trapped inside a mechanical, ugly and lazy action formula. It is not even fun in a bad-movie way. Violent, noisy and gritty set around the urban streets of Detroit, Exit Wounds is probably the last cop film worth a watch that Seagal made and his last with Warner Bros.
