'Paula Peril' is an anthology movie that features three original stories inspired by the popular comic book. Each story turns around a plucky investigative reporter (Valerie Perez) who runs afoul of mobsters - and supernatural enemies - in a perilous plot-line that recalls the spirit of the old action mystery serials from the 1940s. The acting is cheesy, but the cast is attractive, and Valerie Perez owns the role she was born to play! Several of the episodes feature solid stunt work and humor. Be prepared for difference in tone and pacing -- each episode was directed by a different director. The final episode 'Midnight Whistle' (directed by Jason Winn) ends the feature on a high note.
