11/19/2018 This film was great. See more 05/16/2018 I haven't seen many Japanese films from this period and found this film really interesting and at times funny. Visually it was interesting as well. See more 04/11/2017 This one was a solid little film in the series, with our man Zatoichi mistaken for a thief and forced to work with a Yakuza boss to prove their innocence and find the real crook. This series is a helluva lot of fun, though I don't know if marathoning them is the best method to view, as the general tropes start to get a bit monotonous. Recommended. See more 02/23/2015 Dynamic direction and a solid climax make for good Zatoichi installment. Visiting the grave of a dead man he should not have killed, Zatoichi gets mixed up in a robbery and 1000 ryo of gold are stolen from farmers, and he is the prime suspect. It eventually spirals into one of the better climaxes, as Zatoichi's opponent is mean spirited and doesn't play fair. Its the sweet musical cues and cool camera angles that make this one memorable.
