Definitely underrated. The site carrying the name of the late Roger Ebert thinks that the location doesn’t ring true! A movie shot in the former Yugoslavia about a Serbian general is not believable according to some American. Kingsley and Hilmar deliver superb performances. The scene in the dancing hall reminded me of Theo Angelopoulos. The ending is questionable. Why they shoot the "maid"? The newspaper announces the General’s capture, which clearly has not happened. Impressive cinematography in terms of colors, angles and illumination.

As I watched this movie, I wasn't completely sure where the movie was going or what it was about. Its been two days and I haven't stopped thinking about this film. I realize that reviews aren't impressive but I'm going to disagree. Its a short-ish watch and asks some unusual questions about life choices. Its watchable and meaningful. I honestly didn't see it coming.

This was an interesting one. A low budget, minimally casted film about a war criminal and his maid. Surely giving Ben Kingsley all the room in the world to flex his prowess would have been a treat for us all. But his weird English accent and the lack of true emotional depth, was really the downfall for a potentially good movie.

The music and beautiful visuals were tops! Acting tool But the story line was depressing, and often difficult to follow. The murder of one of the main characters was totally thrown in for shock value. Plus the main character was so awful, and spent the whole time trying to justify himself Sorry I saw this movie.. Left me with a bad taste D
