Anya Taylor-Joy is Lucky in an entertaining bit of thrilling fare that often promises more than it can deliver but never lets the audience down when it comes to action and intrigue.

Quantity is rarely the same as quality in episodic television, and “Lucky,” to its credit, steers clear of the bloat epidemic that plagues so much current TV. That’s a big reason why it’s such a bloody good time. Go to Full Review

The action works. The cast works. Lucky herself often works. The problem is that the show’s entire premise rests on a decision that does not. Go to Full Review

Despite some predictability, Anya Taylor-Joy delivers a performance that is equally sympathetic and treacherous, using the complexity of the persona to become multi-faceted and enjoyable rather than a one-note con artist. Go to Full Review

Eric J @RT27161063 18h This has been a great series through the first six episodes, and I’m really looking forward to the finale next week. It’s well written, the acting is excellent, and the story has kept me hooked from the beginning. If you enjoy a good drama with plenty of action and suspense, I’d definitely recommend giving Lucky a watch. See more J D @Truth9834 20h I am also surprised, as are other viewers, by how much I like this show. Clearly my liking this is Anya Taylor-Joy and her charisma. She is a charm to watch. See more Amparo P @porty 21h I feel like they draw out the scenes a little too long sometimes and I’m like fast forwarding to them. See more Jimmie T @RT56780042232 4d I dont know why im liking this show. Its not too good but i guess there's some charm to see Anya Taylor Joy running and be on her shenanigans. See more Aline L @alnllaee26 5d My grandfather taught me every card game that exists, and billiards too. On summer holidays I'd catch him playing for money — never with me, never in front of me if he could help it. That world stayed behind a door I wasn't allowed through, and Lucky is what was on the other side. He used to say: lucky at cards, unlucky in love. He meant it literally. Every win draws down the luck in the rest of your life, like water from a well. So before any decision that mattered, I'd buy a lottery ticket — if it paid out, I knew the answer would go against me. That's the arithmetic this show is built on. Lucky wins constantly. Anya Taylor-Joy plays her with the composure of someone never once caught, and the series keeps asking what all that winning has been charged against. Every escape costs her something — and the show lets you see the bill. It understands something my grandfather knew without a screenwriter to explain it. 100 out of 10. See more Glenna B @Glenna547 Aug 7 Some pretty strong plot armor aside, I am surprised by how much I like this show. Anya Taylor-Joy has so much charisma, and her cons kept me invested from beginning to end. Definitely better than I expected after the premiere. See more Read all reviews
