K G @KatyG-S 1d Owe the predecessor an apology. This movie gets too many things wrong! At first, there is no exceptional acting in this. Maybe the cast did not seem to want to be in this at all! For example, I do not think Drew Roberts was making eye contact with Ricky. This movie may have no dimension. The next problem is poor lighting. It is too dark a lot of the time. Is this movie trying to be effectively scary. If it lacks lighting, it means we can barely see anything. Another factor to it is that it diminishes how much of action movie, it is (may not be categorized as one). "I guess we need more lighting". From the start, I knew the graphics were unproffesional. Still, they may have looked better than "Independance Day: Resurgence". Crossovers can be mistakes. Far too much time is spent on generic human subplots and teenage drama, yet the characters are so thin that their relationships, fear and deaths carry almost no emotional weight. When the film finally focuses on the creatures, the editing becomes difficult to follow and the lighting is so dark that even the practical effects are hard to appreciate. There is plenty of violence, but brutality without investment quickly becomes noise. What disappoints me most is how little affection for either franchise I felt compared with the previous crossover. That movie had obvious flaws, but at least it seemed excited to bring these worlds together. Here, the title feels more memorable than anything actually happening on screen. Well it grossed more than three times the budget, even more so at the moment, despite critique against the poor lighting, erratic editing and lack of "originality". If you are an admirer of the Predator / Alien sagas, this is A-Okay. Whole cast delivers convincingly in character, story is well written, the brothers Strause could have done better with the directing. See more Matt J @RT95392035 5d Well, they tried to fix the violence aspect of it from the first movie. This got an R rating, and that did feel more like it should. However, as other people have mentioned, it was a dark movie and not in a good way. There are so many scenes that you literally can't tell what you're looking at. To the point where it gets annoying. This movie was less silly than the last, but tends to drag on and the characters you just wont care about. You can probably skip this one unless you need to see everything Alien/Predator. See more The W @TheWagners Jul 5 What a letdown this movie was compared to the first one. The darkness is so apparent you can barely see anything in the movie. I guess they knew the movie was bad so they wanted to cover as much of it as they could. The human story was so forgettable and lame, and it overshadowed what we came here for. A fight between an alien and predator, we only go two fight scenes tops. Terrible stupid ending where everyone loses and no one wins. Bad acting from the human characters and terrible terrible effects. Wasn't this made as a sequel? Then why does the first one look better? Trash movie. See more Dominic T. @Dom2Chilly Jun 25 5.0/10.
