Nothing gets between Anne Marie (Kate Bosworth) and her board. Surfing is extreme sport, but only so-so cinema. When you've seen one wave, you've seen them all: so it soon looks. All the babes who do the surfing in John Stockwell's youth-cult romance also come off an assembly line of blonde bimbos.

The cinematography is spectacular -- viewers are placed on top of, in the middle of, and under the waves -- but the story is a narrative wipeout almost from the start.

Filme fraco, o roteiro é fraco, as cenas são fracas, a história é fraca, o elenco é fraco, e ninguém ajuda a melhorar o filme, os personagens são fracos, e o filme deveria ter cenas bem melhores e relevantes, para fazer o filme ser bom

I loved this movie, seen it more than once. Critics have condemned the scant plot but the movie says a lot with "show not tell" about poor surfer girls struggling to survive as maids in a flash (very) hotel. They are surrogate mothers to the star's kid sister and living in a very rustic abode. Girl power is awesome as are the very scary Hawaiian waves. Romance or the pipe - why pick only one though the girls will still struggle and the bloke will not.
