I think the people being underwhelmed are the ones used to Advengers brand special effects. But for what the movie is it's really a great movie. See more Ron T @rrtucker42 Jul 17 This movie is a great example of why I mostly ignore critics, especially if there is any kind of spiritual nuance to it. I think the acting was all great and the story was original and consistent with itself. We just don't fully know where our spirits reside and what we may be able to do after death. And there is certainly plenty of "evidence" that we continue to exist after death. My guess is that most of the critics don't believe that. I was in rapt attention for the duration of the movie. It had me hooked. And I thought the ending was fantastic. I was crying with joy and sorrow but mostly joy. That will always rank as a great movie for me if it can have me doing that. See more BBGard T @BBGard Jun 4 This isn't an Emmy winning flick, but it's an enjoyable, uplifting and fairly intense movie. It considers the possibility of a life beyond this one. Secularists, humanists & atheists will no doubt hate it, but it mixes a little mystery, psychological issues of grief, and thriller, with spiritual concepts. It delves into hope, faith and the metaphysical considerations, and does it VERY well. It's not, nor intended to be, a religious movie. It's a fictional story to entertain and maybe cause people to ask, "What comes after this world?" Highly recommend. See more Leon H @Leohar Feb 9 Granted, I was young when I saw this initially. And perhaps my reviewing of it was based in nostalgia, but I can't understand the cranky poor reviews. The bird scene when it's going crazy is top notch for me. As a matter of fact, I think I'll turn off Superbowl 60 and give it another go. This was my first experience of a "horror" movie and I still think it's the best. Aside from Exorcist 3 anyway.
