Feardotcom is an early-2000s techno-horror/crime hybrid that tries to exploit internet-age fears but ends up messy, exploitative, and forgettable. The story follows Detective Mike Reilly and health investigator Terry Huston as they look into a string of deaths linked only by a disturbing website. While the idea of a "haunted website" felt relatively fresh at the time, the film wastes its potential with a convoluted plot, weak characters, forced performances, and gratuitous elements that overshadow the mystery. Natascha McElhone stands out slightly, but the cast overall struggles with the material. The climax is bizarre and overcomplicated, and the ending is anticlimactic and nonsensical, relying on tired horror clichés instead of payoff. Despite its odd awards history, the film is ultimately more frustrating than entertaining—and best avoided.

Terrible. The people who made this movie didn’t know what the internet was at the time, not scary one bit, even if this came out before the American version of the ring it seems like a ripoff of Ringu, awful effects and terrible acting from the our characters. Do not watch feardotcom

I don't know why this movie has such poor ratings... this is an incredible film with beautiful story telling. I found myself invested in the plot from the beginning to the end. It has suspense and an unexpected ending. I enjoyed it.
