The film raises relevant themes—grief, collective paranoia, the construction of the "other" as a threat—but consumes them in a succession of shocks that prevent reflection from taking root. [Full review in Spanish] Go to Full Review

With a new twist coming seemingly every 10 to 15 minutes, this film ratchets up the tension. Go to Full Review

An efficient little thriller that won't set your world alight, but provides a few sparks. Go to Full Review

The fire is menacing, but it feels so contrived from the very first scene that it fails to generate enough panic. [Full review in Spanish] Go to Full Review

Firebreak is one such attempt at waking us up to the real issues that are plaguing our society instead of bickering amongst one another. Go to Full Review

Tanya S @Snook33 1d Acting is terrible and characters frustrated me. I still don't completely understand it. See more L J @Cracky 1d Annoying movie even though I wasn't even paying attention to it (fortunately). Almost as bad as Old Guard 2 (well not sure but close). See more Danielle B. @itsdanielle 2d I constantly questioned the characters actions, lack of common sense and urgency. The shaky filming on alone had me dizzy. See more David S @Moviewatcher420 3d Poetic. Lots of twists and turns. Overall I’d say it’s a great film. See more Tristan M @cosmic_nomad_00 3d Firebreak mistakes incompetence for tension. Instead of building suspense through meaningful conflict, it relies on characters making bafflingly irrational decisions. Nearly every major turning point feels less like an unavoidable consequence of the situation and more like someone ignoring basic logic. That doesn’t create anxiety — it creates frustration. In a disaster scenario, flawed judgment can be realistic. But here, the poor decision-making feels forced, as if the script needs characters to act stupid to keep the plot moving. People separate for no reason, withhold obvious information, and fail to take basic precautions. Rather than feeling immersed in a high-stakes survival story, I felt like I was watching preventable mistakes stack up. The premise had potential, but weak character logic undercuts any real suspense. When the audience can consistently think of better decisions than the people on screen, the tension collapses. See more Valerie H 3d Hugely disappointing movie. I was expecting a good disaster movie concerning a fire but it just turned into a hot mess. Perhaps it loses something in the translation into English but the dialogue was wooden and the acting was stiff. See more Read all reviews
