Lorelei Lee (Marilyn Monroe) is a beautiful showgirl engaged to be married to the wealthy Gus Esmond (Tommy Noonan), much to the disapproval of Gus' rich father, Esmond Sr., who thinks that Lorelei is just after his money. When Lorelei goes on a cruise accompanied only by her best friend, Dorothy Shaw (Jane Russell), Esmond Sr. hires Ernie Malone (Elliott Reid), a private detective, to follow her and report any questionable behavior that would disqualify her from the marriage.

Howard Hawks’ only musical doesn’t engage on par till it eventually sparks and comedically thickens over Jane Russell and Marilyn Monroe’s wittily charming dynamic with gracefully sharp singing. (B)

Throughout the entirety of the film, Marilyn Monroe and Jane Russell dazzle with irresistible charm and flawless comedic timing. “Gentlemen Prefer Blondes” is an absolute delight.

Filme bacaninha, o roteiro é mais ou menos, as cenas são bacaninhas, a história é mais ou menos, o elenco é mais ou menos, e só as garotas ajudaram a melhorar o filme, os personagens são mais ou menos, e o filme deveria ter cenas bem melhores e relevantes.

I had the pleasure of seeing it recently and as a new generation I find it extremely good and entertaining. The songs and the plot, I think, make a huge click in my brain since I love the color palette they used throughout the film, it's striking.

Duas grandes ressalvas, muito musical (não me apetece) e assistir Marilyn Monroe, linda e talentosa, interpretando a loira burra, me dói profundamente considerando tu do que sabemos que a pobrezinha passou fora das telas... Impressão minha ou dois guris negros só retratados como macaquinhos? 'Foram homens como você que me tronaram o que sou hoje'' reflete um pouquinho de todas nós, pais, irmãos, tios, namorados ou estranhos, apenas reflexo… Um filme engraçadinho com uma toada triste...

Synopsis
