It is far from being the great entertainment that it could have been. [Full Review in Spanish] Go to Full Review

'Megalodon' can not make up the fiasco in any way. [Full Review in Spanish] Go to Full Review

Megalodon ends up being totally disposable, and not even the charisma of Jason Statham can save it. [Full Review in Spanish] Go to Full Review

Stefan Ö @stefan.e.oberg 2d This movie is not about a shark. Sure, there is a giant shark in the movie. However, I think the viewer should do as the characters in the movie and not be too caught up on that. I would argue that Megalodon (Thomas 2018) is rather a movie in the tradition of Paths of Glory (Kubrick 1957) and Apocalypse Now (Coppola 1979). It lays bare the fragility of any leadership that is concentrated to a single person. In the two opening scenes, both the Russian and the US commander forcefully establish an inflexible line of command. The rest of the movie is a string of (more or less interlinked) situations illustrating poor management and even worse decision-making from all people in a leadership position. Further to its credit, this movie also shows how subjects can have a strong sense of loyalty even towards an obviously flawed leader, especially when this leader is challenged by a rival. However, most rewarding is the unacknowledged cameo of a dolphin after about 1 hour and 10 minutes. See more thiago s @Thiagostone Sep 24 Filme fraco, o roteiro é fraco, as cenas de terror são fracas, a história é fraca, o elenco é fraco, e ninguém ajuda a melhorar o filme, os personagens são fracos, e o filme deveria ter cenas bem melhores e relevantes, para fazer o filme ser bom See more Dan R 07/21/2024 Sometimes these B movies can be a pleasant surprise. This one is an unpleasant disappointment. Watch something else! See more Chris B @Burge 08/10/2023 I like this. Don't expect it to be a masterpiece by any means. It's a fun brain dead movie. See more Mike W @MikeW269 02/24/2021 It was so terrible it was comedic. Michael Madsen was a more than poor Admiral. Thankfully his role was limited. He could at least have cleaned himself up with a haircut for the part, but no. Dominic Pace was almost as poor as the Captain of the Ship. Not one character was interesting. The story line ran dangerously close to that of time worn "Jaws". See more 01/02/2021 If it were possible to give negative ratings, this would be it. I understand that TV movies tend to be a bit cheesy and rarely good, but this film is absolutely horrible. First off, SyFy should know better than to make a film about a US Navy vessel without having a single military consultant. It appears that principle photography took place on an old cargo vessel covered in rust. Though Navy ships do rust, they are not allowed to get to this point. On top of that, the "bridge" isn't even the bridge of a cargo vessel, much less a Naval vessel. Military uniform and appearance regs... An Admiral with long hair and wearing four rings, talking to a crew like a drunk Seaman might. The captain keeps calling Lynch "Commander", but her rank insignia is that of a Lieutenant. On top of that the captain himself is written to be somewhat of a parody of Captain Blythe. One of the lines that gets me is "You're not supposed to do anything unless I order you"...sounds military right? Wrong. Every person has a specific job and is expected to do that job without being ordered to. As for the rest of the film... Special effects are laughable. Apparently the megalodon was rendered using dated software, by incompetent artists. Usually you can tell when something is CGI, but this looks like it's out of a game from 2003. The acting is terrible. Not a single believable character or line throughout. The characters have no depth or development, and pretty much all of the dialog will make you cringe. The script, cinematography, lighting, acting, direction, and post production are worthy of a old, rusted vomit filled trashcan. See more Read all reviews
