un though it is to see Jackie Chan good-naturedly busting out the classic moves -- and very spry he is at 70 years old -- this really is a by-the-numbers piece of work. Go to Full Review

The film is entertaining, it has funny moments, and it basically woks. It’s predictable but it’s not terrible. Go to Full Review

Where Chan’s best films allow for wide-angle shots with minimal edits, this one keeps cutting away from the action for lackluster gags and shenanigans that took me completely out of the scene. Go to Full Review

While it will not win any awards nor be your favorite Jackie Chan movie, if you’re a fan like me, you’ll leave with a smile on your face. Go to Full Review

Kids deserve better; their parents certainly do too. Heck, even pandas deserve better, and they’re going extinct because they’re too lazy to move and look for their food! Go to Full Review

This kid-targeted slapstick martial arts movie is likable enough, but it also feels a bit tired, stuck with poorly acted villains, a poorly animated panda, and a general lack of laughs. Go to Full Review

DanTheMan 2 @DanTheMan2150AD 3d Some what of a step up from A Legend, Panda Plan gets by because this is Jackie Chan doing exactly what he's known for, possibly for the last time. The film only really manages to elicit a light chuckle, even at the most trying of times. Zhang Luan's lightweight Die Hard-in-a-zoo action demands so little from its viewers, often thinking a poorly realised CGI panda is a good substitute for all the stuff we love Jackie Chan films for. Instead, the film becomes more of a tedious trudge through lazily choreographed fight sequences, sluggish chases and torridly scripted interactions between Chan's lethargic protagonist, an interchangeable ensemble of goofball mercenaries and a horrendous villain, all coupled with forgettable music and some questionable acting from the supporting players. Setting aside the meta references, Panda Plan fails in its attempt to aim at the kids with the stale jokes that don't appeal to anybody, irrespective of age; it's high budget, but the effort isn't. See more C G. @CGond 4d I watched this movie because I planned to watch the sequel. But in this first movie, the fight choreography felt stiff and unnatural. It might be because Jackie Chan is getting older. The CGI for the panda and rhino also looked a bit unrefined. Hopefully, the second one will be better. Poor Jackie had to play a cameo of himself too. See more Dan L. @dlee2 Jun 10 Jackie loved that panda!
