Still haunted by the disappearance and death of the girl he loved as a teen, university professor Sam (Guy Pearce) meets a woman, Ruby (Helena Bonham Carter), on a train, and they hit it off. But Ruby disappears when Sam is distracted. Later that same night, he spots her falling from a bridge into a lake. He rescues her, but Ruby doesn't remember who she is. Slowly, she starts to feel oddly comfortable with Sam, and he begins to believe that she may be the reincarnation of his dead love.

Petroni may have chosen to move the plot along at a snail's pace to reflect the mood of Prufrock's poem, but there isn't enough lyricism in the film to save the story.

TILL HUMAN VOICES WAKE US isn't an action flick. It's got quite a bit more depth. The collegiate snob critics missed the point entirely.

Loved the story of young love, but the present day story was slow with missing pieces. It was beautiful and promising at first, but got lost along the way.

A film that, despite some flaws in the beginning with the child actors being on a lesser extent than the adults, manages to make you cry with its never ending captivity thanks to its two leads.
