See more dave s 06/05/2021 In The Long Dark Night (aka The Pack), mayhem ensues when a pack of wild dogs who have been abandoned by their owners on a remote tourist island decide to turn the tables on the inhabitants of the island. Despite some wince-worthy dialogue, plenty of pointless scenes early on, and some pretty bottom-rate acting, Joe Don Baker (of Walking Tall fame) does his best to hold the whole mess together. Once things get going, which seems to take a while, the dog attacks are actually pretty convincing and the leader of the pack comes across as truly menacing. The Long Dark Night is not as good as it could have been, but it's a lot better than other similar films from the same period.
