Jamie E @EvangelineEldrin Feb 12 I understand the creative liberty often taken by movies doing book adaptations, but the changes made in this film.led to a cascade of interventions that made the movie such a detour and let down from the amazingness that is the book. It is like if I explained the coolest scenes of the book to someone who then decided to make a film without asking how these plot points connect in the slightest and also, for some reason, refused to do basic research on CERN and religous art history. This movie was made by jocks that wanted to just see things on fire or explode... which don't get me wrong, I did too. The imagery and descriptions in the book were something I wanted to see on the big screen. But this felt like a collection of action shots for a trailer over a well planned out movie. Ron Howard directed this movie and The Da Vinci Code [2006] with mastery...It's not an easy task due to the complexity of Dan Brown's stories and characters, but Ron really made me proud.
