Funny and nostalgic See more TheMovieSearch R @TheMovieSearch 2 days ago Ali G Indahouse: The Movie has a few funny moments, but the humor wears thin and the film feels like one long joke. It leans on offensive material, part of Sacha Baron Cohen’s style, but that does not make every gag land. Much of the comedy seems designed to provoke rather than entertain. The jokes keep pushing further without giving the audience much reason to find them worthwhile. Some moments are so crude that they stop being funny and become frustrating. The film expects viewers to accept everything because it is outrageous, but that approach gets old quickly. The humor comes across as lazy rather than daring. By the end, Ali G Indahouse is more exhausting than entertaining. Cohen commits to the character, but the attempts to shock overshadow the comedy. I understand the point is to offend and provoke, yet that does not make the material funny. There are a few laughs, but not enough to save the experience. See more MC R @RT91491190 Aug 25, 2026 To be honest, I never seen this movie before. But there is talk about a new movie and I saw today even a trailer is dropped. So I though let's give it a chance. I know it's weird because I usually love Sascha Baron Cohen, especially Borat but also The Dictator. Let's not forget he debuted in the MCU as Mephisto. I hope he will return as Mephisto in Ghost Rider and other stuff. The reason I didn't watch it before was I always though his Ali G character was making fun of the HipHop culture. Not that I'm offended but still. I love the HipHop culture, so thats that! But today I give it a chance. It has some fun moments, but also not my kind of humor. Ali G is not my favorite character of Cohen. Love Borat more! Loved that Borat made an entree in the movie. That was fun! Loved to see Martin Freeman also in the movie.
