Alicia and Gonzalo, a middle-class couple, have the chance to enroll their son Fer in an elite secular school. For the parents, it means a glimpse into the upper class, new friendships, higher incomes, countless advantages. They say they're doing it for their son. In this wonderful contradiction between their fears and moral principles, the couples aspirations will challenge everything they once believed to be unquestionable.

A chilling, unsettling comedy that could easily have been written by Ruben Östlund... [Full review in Spanish] Go to Full Review

It is, without explicitly stating it, a powerful plea for public good and for understanding what it truly means to care for children, and that alone places it among the best films of the year so far. [Full review in Spanish] Go to Full Review

...dignity is at stake in this magnificent satire, which reflects on public education, ideological clashes, the anxiety of social advancement, and contemporary hypocrisy. [Full review in Spanish] Go to Full Review

Marco L @decatur555 Aug 3, 2026 A sharp-tongued Spanish comedy with a solid cast and a very clear target: parents obsessed with proving that any problem their son has comes from outside. If he doesn't fit in, it's his classmates' fault; if he misbehaves, the school doesn't get him. Anything but admit the problem might be at home. That's what angered me most, because these parents aren't as exaggerated as they seem. We all know adults who deny or minimize their kids' bullying and play the offended victim when someone points it out. The giftedness label becomes a refuge and an excuse. The trouble is that almost everyone is insufferable, and the meanness ends up creating distance. Marian Álvarez and the Colombian mother keep some humanity. It has bite and good intentions, but it made me more irritated than amused, and it left me a bit cold. Interesting, at times very accurate, but repetitive and not that funny.
