What to Know

Critics Consensus

With plenty of pulpy action, a pleasantly retro vibe, and a handful of fine performances, Captain America is solidly old-fashioned blockbuster entertainment.

Ian W @iwaldman 1 day ago I was never a huge fan of this movie. I understand it’s an origin story, and it’s a good one at that, but it spends a lot of time focused on not only setting up the plot but also setting up the character. This is why the movie feels like so much and so little at the same time. For example, there is a montage in this movie that breezes through all of the cool stuff I wanted to see in the film. It misses out on the opportunity to have some great action sequences, and instead, we have to wait for the incredible sequel to get them. What we have left is some good stuff, but it just doesn’t get me all that excited to watch anymore, especially knowing how good a Captain America movie could be, i.e., The Winter Soldier. All gripes aside, this film established so much for the greater MCU, and we are still feeling those ripples all the way up to Doomsday. Hence why it’s on the “countdown” list. Peggy Carter, Bucky, Red Skull, the Tesseract, and Steve Rogers himself all had or have a role to pla See more Luan J @Luan_joaquim19 2 days ago Gostei do filme, é um filme que quem gosta de herois e guerra mundial vai adorar, tem um roteiro ok e atores que nasceram para o papel, como o (Cris evans), agente Carter e Howard Stark, Mas quem está esperando grandes lutas e batalhas não recomendo. Para finalizar, adorei a participação do caveira vermelha no filme. See more Finley R @RT27162073 2 days ago A really great movie in my opinion. The only Thing I really don't like is the villain. See more LowFat W @Chris.P.Bacon Oct 20, 2026 This movie has some really good character development in turning Steve rogers from a scrawny kid to Captain America. I would've liked more depth into Steve and Bucky's friendship but still a great movie.
