Alfonso Cuaron stages some terrific set-pieces, and the production designers deserve credit for making London in 2027 look like the grunge capital of the world, ie, like now, only more so. One small problem: I didn't believe any of it.

It's got great cinematography, acting, etc. However, it's very murky regarding race and gender and so many bits could be trimmed to make it less of a chore.

Despite being released in 2006 this movie has more relevance than ever before and eerily resembles much of what is happening today and the debates, disputes and conflicts now dominating many Western countries. Overall the film was relatively well made and the action sequences intense and the acting performances were excellent.

A sophisticated gem, with an intelligent original script. This was the best picture in 2006, but strangely, it got overlook during the award season. It didn't even get a nomination.

Do you remember the Denzel film about no bible left in the world? What a dumbass ide. This is similar. No babies left in the world ???? What an incredible stupid ide. The street fighting scenes are great though.

It begins with some promise but as it progresses just becomes a gore fest with a confusing plot line. It lacks a coherent rationale. Why did women stop having babies? The backlash against immigrants is perceptive but taken to extremes. Not only that but the characters are the weakest part of the film. More caricatures than believable people.

This movie is amazing, and we are not so far away from part of the plot in the film, there is so much hate in the world all around but hope lays in that people are much more than a government.
