Erin Brockovich is a woman in a tight spot. Following a car accident in which Erin is not at fault, Erin pleads with her attorney Ed Masry to hire her at his law firm. Erin stumbles upon some medical records placed in real estate files. She convinces Ed to allow her to investigate, where she discovers a cover-up involving contaminated water in a local community which is causing devastating illnesses among its residents.

Filme mais ou menos, o roteiro é fraco, as cenas são mais ou menos, a história é fraca, o elenco é fraco, e ninguém ajuda a melhorar o filme, os personagens são fracos, e o filme deveria ter cenas bem melhores e relevantes, para fazer o filme ser bom, o que salvou o filme foi a atuação boa da Julia Roberts.

A story about a single mom with two kids who lands a job at a law firm and accidentally uncovers evidence that PG&E was omitting information about harmful chemicals causing devastating health issues in a local community. It’s fun watching her fully commit to the investigation—outmatched but fearless—while confidently taking on powerful corporate lawyers, all while embracing her bold, unapologetic style. The ending really lands, especially when she brings along the man she’d been dating—who helped care for her kids—to tell the woman who first brought her the case that she’ll be receiving a $5M settlement. That moment hit emotionally. Solid film. 3/5, would rewatch.

Erin Brockovich remains a near-perfect blend of crowd-pleaser and conscience-raiser. It respects working-class communities, celebrates female agency without sanding off the edges, and delivers an ending that earns every cheer. Kit calls it "a biopic that respects real voices and lets a complicated woman lead without apology." Cade describes it as "a brisk, funny legal thriller with real-world stakes and zero cape." Both agreeing that it’s the rare inspirational film that keeps its calluses.

Occasionally clunky, but an incredibly important topic. Look into the Love Canal case. The EPA is not the enemy. Greedy corporations that threaten public health are. This was a great reminder of that.
