Dr. Hrothgar Geiger (Andy Parkin), founder of the Zomcon, discovers that a single shot in the head of the zombies kill them. The humans win the war and Dr. Geiger develops a collar to control the zombies through a remote control, who serve humans in labor work. In Willard, when the powerful security manager of Zoncon, Mr. Bottoms (Henry Czerny), moves to a house near the Robinson family, Helen Robinson (Carrie-Anne Moss) realizes that her family is the only in the suburban neighborhood who does not own a servant zombie. She hires a zombie and her shy and outcast son Timmy (Kesun Loder), who is bullied at school by two brothers, befriends him and calls him Fido (Billy Connolly). When Helen’s husband Bill Robinson (Dylan Baker) sees her acquisition, he becomes irritated since he has a trauma for killing his father when he turned into a zombie and now is scared with zombies. Timmy plays with Fido all the time since Bill neglects Helen and him. When his grumpy neighbor hits Fido’s collar, he attacks and kills her. Timmy and Fido hide her body and his neighbor Mr. Theopolis (Tim Blake Nelson), who has a zombie girlfriend Tammy (Sonja Bennett), helps Timmy to fix Fido’s collar. Soon there is a zombie outbreak in the neighborhood and Mr. Bottoms investigate the case, in the beginning of a series of problems to Fido, Timmy and Helen. “Fido” is a Canadian Zombie comedy by Andrew Currie in a environment that recalls the United States in the 50’s. This kind of Pleasantville with zombies has several funny moments that will certainly make the viewer laugh. The gorgeous Carrie-Anne Moss is hilarious with her performance of a woman neglected by her husband, who only think to afford an expensive funeral to his family and play golf with his friend. The boy Timmy is also responsible for funny moments. Tim Blake Nelson performs as a hilarious weirdo, who has a zombie girlfriend. Henry Czerny is a great villain, and the conclusion is great with him turning into a zombie-pet of his daughter. But Billy Connolly steals the show in the role of the sweet Fido. My vote is seven.
