Directed by Devashish Makhija whose previous ‘Cheetpatakadumpa’ made solid use of its leads’ feminist energy...Gandhari feels as if it has slipped between the cracks: it is neither impactful nor believable. Go to Full Review
Poulomi Das The Federal Sep 30, 2026
It is as though every thriller convention and vaguely ominous cultural reference available to the filmmakers has been crammed into the screenplay, with the presence itself expected to create complexity. Go to Full Review

Gandhari is a Frankenstein movie- disjointed ideas stitched haphazardly, expecting too much, without much return. Go to Full Review

Gandhari does not offer anything particularly new with its script. While that in itself is not necessarily a problem, for a thriller, there is also nothing remotely intriguing enough to keep you on the edge. Go to Full Review

It reflects a truth about society that continues to prevail, and Gandhari makes for an arresting showcase for the most part of it. Go to Full Review

Taapsee Pannu's Gandhari is Mardaani blended with Baby Do Die Do but Kanika Dhillon's pretentious writing makes it shallow and shoddy. Go to Full Review

Marco L @decatur555 Oct 22, 2026 A terrible and clumsy revenge thriller with a premise that could have worked but ends up wasted. A desperate mother, a kidnapped daughter and temporary blindness should have created tension, vulnerability and emotional force, but the film turns all of that into shouting, coincidences, forced twists and noisy action. Taapsee Pannu tries hard and has presence, but she is trapped inside a character written with a hammer. The blindness angle is used whenever convenient and forgotten whenever it gets in the way. The villains are cardboard, the investigation has no real grip, the revelations are predictable and the direction confuses intensity with volume. Even the hyper-violent third act does not save it, because by then the story is already too badly built for blood and rage to feel like catharsis. It is not bad in a fun way, nor interestingly flawed. Just poor, tiring, ridiculous and forgettable. See more N T @RT43705030 Oct 11, 2026 One wonders how such a movie gets made! It is amongst the worst Bollywood movies of all time! See more Milind T @milind3118 Sep 20, 2026 Incoherent. A serious issue successfully botched. See more Sujit N @RT85659387 Sep 19, 2026 Could have made something out of the story, but the director tried to do too many things I guess. Mixing plots of successfull story lines won’t make a great movie. See more Hotma Fani H @RT22527964 Sep 12, 2026 Gandhari has a premise that immediately grabs your attention: a mother loses her eyesight while trying to save her kidnapped daughter, then transforms into someone willing to do whatever it takes to find her child and seek revenge. Taapsee Pannu brings a strong presence to the role of Bani. There's anger, desperation, and a mother's unwavering determination that makes her character easy to root for. The film also attempts to tackle human trafficking and the failures of the justice system, giving the story more weight than just another revenge-driven action movie. Unfortunately, Gandhari often feels too preoccupied with trying to appear serious and important. Some of the dramatic moments feel forced, while the mystery doesn't always build the tension you'd expect. The ideas are compelling, but the execution lacks consistency. For me, Gandhari is a film with significant potential that never fully manages to realize it. See more Aly G @Aly13G Sep 10, 2026 The movie was acted poorly, but the story is very thrilling. There are lots of turn of events, and the action scenes were decent. See more Read all reviews
