Rob Zombie doesn't bring many new ideas to the table in Halloween, making it another bloody disappointment for fans of the franchise.

Because it's still about Michael Myers, it all feels epic and larger than life in a way few of those other films do. Go to Full Review

The result, though undeniably preferable to yet another misbegotten installment of the long-exhausted franchise, certainly doesn't compare to John Carpenter's landmark original film. Go to Full Review

Taking 50 minutes to get to the present where the original took five, here we are offered something resembling justification for why poor little Mikey beat and stabbed his way to infamy. Go to Full Review

Leans into the least interesting elements of the original storyline while also being held back by Rob Zombie's emphasis on style over substance. Go to Full Review

Steven N @stevennavel 2 hrs ago It is a rob zombie film. Its very graphic and violent as a Michael Myers movie should be See more Robert P @Superbad 1 day ago Halloween is a *3* star Movie! See more Steven O @RT43175504 2 days ago Absolutely love it. Tells the Michael Myers story in more detail than the original films. See more Brenden D @WestWardReviews 4 days ago This Film Feels lIke It Was Made By Ted Bundy For Ted Bundy This film misses the appeal of the original by giving Michael a cliche backstory that takes over a third of the runtime. The majority of people are wildly unpleasant. Too many sex jokes and horny sounds by Lorie. There's some really creepy casting choices like Danielle Harris who played Michael's niece who gets graped playing a bloody topless teenager, and the actress who played young Jenny in Forrest Gump who was also having the unspeakable done to her playing Michael's sister who gets eye banged by an adult and tickled & gutted by her brother. The director's cut is even more uncomfortable with over the top Sexual Violence of fully nude teenagers getting brutalized and an Escape scene with Gang Grape & Slurs thrown in it. It feels like Rob Zombie gets off on really gross crap. Everything is just WAAAAAAY TOO OVER THE TOP. Malcolm McDowell is nice at least D- 2.7-3/10 SKIP ENTIRELY See more Al J @Algreens Oct 20, 2026 Pays good homage to the original with a little more in-depth background to Michael. I actually really enjoyed it. Not sure why Rob has to put gross rednecks in every picture though. See more Joe G @darkknight85 Oct 18, 2026 This was a good remake. His childhood being covered and the older him but he is way too big in size and it's too gory but dr. Loomis was terrible.
