Critics Consensus

Alternately bloody and silly, Hansel and Gretel: Witch Hunters fails as both a fantasy adventure and as a parody of same.

There's no reason in the world for Hansel and Gretel: Witch Hunters not to be good, clean, trashy fun. But it isn't. Go to Full Review

Is it the worst movie you’ll see? Hardly. Does it have a few moments that work? Well, yes. But are there a number of better ways you could spend your time? Most definitely. Go to Full Review

Be it the fault of the filmmakers or the concept itself, something about leather-clad badasses who trek through antiquated Eastern-European countries to fight monsters with an elaborate, modernish arsenal just never seems to work. Go to Full Review

See more Gnm 5 @Gnm597 Oct 14, 2026 Today is 10/13/2026, Rt numbers. 17 / 53 I will always watch the movie with this sort of ratio. After years of seeing critics score high, and normies low, that tells me EVERY time the movie sucks. And the other way around means make it a priority! Like this! See more L S @LS253 Aug 3, 2026 There's a joyless energy to a lot of the negative reviews of this. Is it perfect? No. Is it a rollicking nifty fun ride through a brilliantly realised fairy tale land that stands up? It absolutely IS that. It's plot thin and at times heavy handed with the action, but perfectly solid entertaining fun. Would recommend. See more TJ M @TjLanadelrey Aug 2, 2026 The critics reviews whining about how this glorifies violence against women is pathetic. Don’t listen to these uber sensitive cry baby feminists who don’t rate on the quality of the film, but only on a few scenes that tug at their panties. It’s actually hilarious how upset they are getting and giving it a one start rating only because of a few scenes. The fight scenes and effects, (actually a lot of what looks like special effects, isn’t),are amazing. Famke is STUNNING in her witch and human form. And obvsiously violence against witches does not count as violence against women. But these low iq feminists and pansies can’t differentiate I guess See more Read all reviews
