This is an emotionally manipulative film that both exaggerates and over simplifies a complex social problem in the United Kingdom. Fans of Michael Caine might be able to overlook the ridiculousness of such an elderly man being a vigilante. Without him the movie would have gone unnoticed amongst the many other films with a similar premise. Glad I didn't pay to see it.

The plot follows a predictable vigilante formula without any big surprises. But it receives 3 and 1/2 stars because of the excellent acting, and the unusual photography; a greenish/yelllow/black palette (almost like "Batman") which somehow adds to the grittiness of the story.

I saw this when it was in the theaters and remembered I was underwhelmed. Watching it again I was fully engaged. Some of the best scenes were Michael Caine just using his face to communicate his anguish and exhaustion.
