Lena wakes up in a moving camper trailer with a horrifying wound. She's warned by the driver that they have one hour to get to a doctor, or she'll succumb to an unimaginably awful fate. As the pain sets in and reality begins to fray, who should really be afraid? Hellcat mostly works as a scrappy little genre exercise. It has tension, a strong central mystery and enough nasty surprises to keep things moving, even when the destination does not always justify the trip. Go to Full Review

It never repeats the tension of its opening sequence. But by this point we're sufficiently invested in Lena that we want to know how it turns out -- which is basically the point. Go to Full Review

After much blood, sweat, and tears — both on and offscreen — Hellcat offers a climax that is enthralling, raw, and richly humane. Go to Full Review

Intense, claustrophobic, and packed with surprises, this is a sharp horror thriller with strong performances, a good script, and enough twists to keep you guessing. Go to Full Review

Greg G @RT18406976 2 days ago The makers of a small-budget indie film have to choose an angle and drive it home for all they're worth. With HELLCAT, the angle is its tight focus on a young woman in peril, trapped in a camper trailer, a setting so cramped and insular the filmmakers sneak the bigger picture right past the viewer, until the third act, that is. The further we go into the story, the more we doubt initial presumptions on the characters' motives, even their natures. Kudos to Dakota Gorman and Todd Terry for making us care about the protagonist and her adversary alike. See more mila V @milav 4 days ago perfect film for spooky season!! I can't wait to see what Brock does next! See more Dan P @zedisdead 4 days ago This movie nails the premise, atmosphere, and offbeat energy with perfection! Hellcat has that scrappy indie-horror spirit of a filmmaker who's willing to get weird and take chances. It’s the kind of movie that sticks with you and feels right at home in the tradition of cult horror discoveries. Glad it’s streaming on Shudder, but this is one I’d love to own on VHS! See more Parker K @pknoxtn 4 days ago Happened across Hellcat one night and I normally don't love horror but wanted something different. Hellcat did not disappoint - It felt original in all the right ways - unafraid to take some swings. The whole thing stays tense without ever feeling overstuffed, and I was never sure where it was headed. The performances are what really stuck with me. Dakota Gorman and Todd Terry are both excellent, and they make every scene feel charged. I’d happily watch either of them in anything after this. If you want a horror movie that feels different and doesn’t waste your time, this is it. See more Read all reviews
