In this animated musical, the villainous King Haggard (Christopher Lee) plots to destroy all the world's unicorns. When a young unicorn (Mia Farrow) learns that she's in danger and that she may soon be the last of her kind, she leaves the safety of her protected forest and enlists the help of Schmendrick (Alan Arkin), a gentle, albeit clumsy, sorcerer. Together, they embark on a long and dangerous journey with one goal: to defeat Haggard and save the unicorns from extinction.

The Last Unicorn will endure as a film for reasons both intellectual and aesthetic. It's full of rich ideas and revisions of outdated, sexist stereotypes, and thereby feels more modern than many animated classics.

It's a good movie, solid plot, magical, good graphics for when it was made, and defiantly interesting. It is a little slow in some parts, but a good movie nonetheless. Defiantly recommend for any unicorn lover.

This movie is so beautiful. It brings tears to my eyes to rewatch it, remembering when I saw it for the first time at a younger age. I can't deny it sparks a sort of "magical" feeling in my heart. I met a girl years ago - Sara. We were going to watch it together, but we lost touch before we could. I miss her, and I hope to cross paths again so maybe we can watch this together. Miss you, Sara! Watching this again reminded me of a friendship that sadly drifted through distance and loss of communication, similar to the beautiful unicorn separated from her friends. The power of this movie carries on!

After The Hobbit, Rankin and Bass teamed up with Topcraft once again to deliver a fantasy book adaptation with wildly dreamy imagery, but lifeless animation (though the talking skeleton is actually impressive), and tons more terrible dialogue.
