The film coasts off the combined charms of its ensemble and location, with Chicago shot in warm, perma-autumnal tones, and thus goes down quite easily. It would be nice, though, if it was funny too. Go to Full Review

Much like the brides hiring Lou to write their vows, Powers may not know what he loves about this genre, or what makes it so special, enough to write something uniquely his own. Go to Full Review

Of course they all look dazzling — it’s a romantic comedy, after all — but they’re all real people, brought to life by a cast who seem genuinely excited to star in that rare love story that meets our expectations and then surpasses them... Go to Full Review

petrs L @petrs 2 days ago The story is tedious, and the characters are overly stereotypical, which makes it even more boring. Most of the couples have no chemistry, and the final love story with Dash, the only decent character, is diminished by how Lou profiles and treats him from the start. Lou is a lost cause, and in the end, you are left feeling like she did not deserve him, so no happy-ending feeling. And yet another movie with the last-minute change of heart and the trip to stop the lover before the airport... can't they think of ANYTHING original? The movie lacks authenticity and relies on 20th-century stereotypes. See more Read all reviews
