It is ribald, cruel, sick, sacrilegious, offensive and enormously funny, continuously and wildly hilarious. Go to Full Review

The finest American comedy since Some Like It Hot, the Mr. Roberts of the Korean War, The Graduate of 1970, and the film that has been expected from director Robert Altman for some short time. Go to Full Review

It was the right picture at the right time, a commentary on the madness of war, set in Korea but clearly seen by audiences as a stand-in for Vietnam, featuring characters who don’t just defy authority but flaunted their insubordination. Go to Full Review

Tom F @RT55173143 1 day ago An enormous disappointment. The film reduces war to a series of hijinks, celebrating open misogyny and racism. It took the TV series a few years to figure out how to keep the comedy and also say something interesting about war and human nature. See more Jeffrey K @DesertWind73 Oct 23, 2026 A classic movie that will be great in any era. Incredibly funny with its dark humor, with great actors playing unique characters. A must see!! See more Mickey B. @Mickerdoo Dec 26, 2025 Not surprised this got a spin off series. The double conversation interrupting jokes felt unique. Sutherland is charming. Liked golf. See more Giuseppe N @RT08931146 Jul 20, 2025 One of Altman's best, rightfully become a classic. Exceptional actors, sharp dialogues, wonderful characters, subversive and though-provoking script. The kind of movie that can uplift and inspire, and make you laugh... and stays in your heart (Especially for the pairing of Sutherland and Gould, who are a hoot from start to finish) No wonder originated one of the most beloved Tv show ever.
