Michael Che: Shot In Minnesota starts off by taking shots at Charlie Kirk, but does the standup comedy special go up or down after that? Go to Full Review
Sean L. McCarthy Decider Oct 13, 2026
His first Netflix special was stellar, his second felt more pedestrian and this third one finds him closer to the first. Go to Full Review

The vibe is not exactly salesmanship. It’s barely even performance. Che knows that he’s amiable enough for people to listen. Go to Full Review

Cody S @RT07907524 Oct 22, 2026 Lots of applause, but not a lot of laughs. applause are voluntary action, but laughter is involuntary. do you think that bothers comedians, whose main goal is to be considered funny? Laughter is a kind of lie detector: you can't fake it or be talked into it, so it's the only clean evidence that a joke worked. Applause can mean "I agree," "I like you," or "I want to be seen agreeing," none of which is the thing a comedian is supposed to be selling. See more Kerin S @RT49466049 Oct 21, 2026 Was I entertained, yes, absolutely. I chuckled and smiled and wanted more at the end. Is this going to be one of the sets we talk about in 20 years as one of "the greats?" Absolutely not. But it's worth a watch and some support. I would recommend for an evening of Netflix and Chill See more VikingsFan755 T @VikingsFan Oct 19, 2026 Looking forward to something new. Not creative at all. Just the same old special needs and gay sex jokes, that aren't even funny. See more Dee L @Mmmph Oct 18, 2026 Although Michael Che is not my most favourite cast member on SNL, his stand-up made me realize how good he actually is. We have watched a lot of mediocre stand-up over the years. Michael Che is a cut above. See more Breathe J @SilverScreenSweetheart Oct 18, 2026 This Netflix special exceeded my expectations! To be honest, I have watched entire standup comedy sets without laughing more than once or twice. But I physically laughed out loud all the way through this one! Michael Che is not the most charismatic or energetic comedian, but his social commentary is absolutely brilliant. He explores many topics and subjects, including marriage, sexuality, race, and politics. He takes on dark topics like political violence, racism, and homophobia with mastery. As much I like watching him and Colin Jost on SNL, I really enjoyed watching him on his own set because he is noticeably freer and less constrained. The only part of the show I outright disliked was the last piece on religion. But to be fair, I may be biased because I am very religious and personally don’t think religion should be incorporated into comedy. However, I enjoyed the show and would recommend to fans of Michael Che, social commentary, and observational humor. Thank you for reading!
