Critics Consensus

As polished as a business presentation and just as impersonal, Office Romance is headed by a likable pairing but proves too content to follow the rules of standard rom-coms to nab a promotion into the C-suite.

Audience Says

A lightweight affair with a bit too much raunch, J-Lo & Goldstein can do no wrong -- except getting tangled up in this Office Romance.

Office Romance coasts off Lopez’s charm to be weird elsewhere. Go to Full Review

Despite their momentary delight, films like Office Romance tell us that Hollywood is stuck creating outdated movies for a version of our romantically yearning culture that doesn’t exist anymore. Go to Full Review

The character work is sharp and the supporting cast a hoot. But the film’s diversions into “raunchy” comedy are awkward. Go to Full Review

It feels almost cruel to say, but this movie is a massive step down for the diva who gave us both a number one movie (The Wedding Planner) and a number one album (J.Lo) on Super Bowl weekend. Go to Full Review

Bawdy humor and a better-than-usual supporting cast (highlighted by Betty Gilpin as Lopez’s protective co-worker) help overcome the built-in predictability and make “Office Romance” easy to like, if not quite love. Go to Full Review

Good romantic comedies make us desperately want two people to end up together. Office Romance achieves the exact opposite: you end up wishing they'd both return to their respective offices as soon as possible… [Full review in Spanish] Go to Full Review

Red R @Reddington 5 days ago This was honestly one of the worst films I have ever watched, and I love a cheesy roscommon. The guy whoever he is , is honestly one of the worst actors I have ever watched. Zero charisma, try to be funny but failing miserably. Throw in his over exaggerated British accent and his wooden acting . He single handedly ruined the film. The lady who was pregnant however was extremely funny. But Avoid this film and anything else that dreadful actor is in. See more Kiki B @Kikibiney 6 days ago What a good time!!! This movie was so funny, cute and easy to enjoy. It was visually appealing and had a great pace! It’s pretty rare a movie can make you laugh out loud these days, but this one did! Loved so much! See more Quill A @Quillton Oct 13, 2026 If you're like me--and I've never met you if you are(?)--you enjoy art that employs smart women who grow. You enjoy great writing, biting humor & intelligent dialogue. Most importantly, you enjoy art involving women who say realistic words. Brett Goldstein & Joe Kelly wrote this female-featured cast so well, I thought a woman wrote/directed the film. Not to be missed-Betty Gilpin's hilarious turn as a soon-2-B mom, killing us softly with soft-spoken yet powerful epithets; -the PHANTOM as a big-city lawyer; -the head of HR brilliantly written & acted; & the funny/cringey boss/assistant communication. Near & dear to my own legal heart, however, are Cruz's legal team's contradictory, a$$-kissing comments-spit out quicker than you can say bipolar brownnosing. For the love of all that is female and/or smart, Brett Goldman & Joe Kelly--MORE PLEASE!! More balanced casting, being brave in pointing out sexism in parenting, & subtly depicting zero credit given to achieving women. See more Benjamin W @Code70 Sep 25, 2026 Yeah, this was pretty boring, and also too raunchy. It’s a very by-the-numbers romantic comedy. There’s nothing distinct about it, it follows all of the tropes to a tee, so I was kinda just bored. It never really kept my attention, and certainly didn’t sustain it. Jennifer Lopez and Brett Goldstein are charming together, but the star power isn’t nearly enough to keep this thing from sinking into mediocrity. It’s probably worse than mediocre, honestly. Too raunchy, not very funny, by-the-numbers, and the characters- despite the cast- aren’t interesting. Skip this one. See more Natasa N @RT33717203 Sep 24, 2026 I can't recommend this. I thought this was satire but then I realized it wasn't ..... it was bad as a satire ..now ... there are no words ti depict the horror .... please skip this movie See more Andrei B @RT24930945 Sep 5, 2026 Light comedy - funny sometimes needs to be corny, fantastic for an easy evening.
