While recent winners like All Of You have proven there’s still juice in the classic friends-to-lovers template, watching People We Meet On Vacation feels more like ordering a sparkling tropical cocktail and getting served tap water. Go to Full Review

A strong supporting cast — Lukas Gage, Molly Shannon, Sarah Catherine Hook, Jameela Jamil and Lucien Laviscount – ups the entertainment value. Since rom-coms have been a bit blah of late, this one will satisfy that itch even if it’s no gamechanger. Go to Full Review

If you put this on, on a weekend afternoon, you will be fine. It is pleasant to watch. But the things that made the book special, I think, are almost impossible to preserve in a two-hour movie. Go to Full Review

People We Meet on Vacation portrays the feeling of exploring the world with people we love and dealing with the painful part of falling in love. It’s scary, but it’s all worth it in the end. Go to Full Review

"‘People We Meet on Vacation’ might just mark the beginning of a new golden age for romantic comedies, at least if sub-genre filmmakers can finally move past stale screenwriting tropes." Go to Full Review

Brittany T @Bri507 20h If you are a person who loves to read the book before watching the movie adaptation and you expect the movie to follow the book in some fashion, this movie is NOT FOR YOU. The only few things that this movie has in common with the book are the names of the characters (and not even then when it comes to David's fiance/soon to be husband) and some of the lines. But for the most part, this movie is almost a completely different thing compared to the book. I do not think I would have even liked this movie if I hadn't read the book first. It was not overly likable in the beginning and the main character Poppy was extremely annoying in the beginning. Alex was maybe the only saving grace for the movie as he was likable enough but it wasn't enough for me to give this movie even a fully one star. See more Sonny S @sonnyshine99 1d It was almost 5 stars but it could have been a little longer and included a few more scenes from the books but I did still really enjoy the movie and the cast was so great! See more Benny S @bennybs00 1d As a lover of the book I was so excited for this movie and in most aspects it did not disappoint! I do feel it was made a little PG13 and there were things missing BUT I did love Tom and Emily as Alex and Poppy and it kept the essence of their story. A fun, easy watch! See more Nico T @nicolasbovalet 1d This movie was a giant waste of my time. The characters felt bland, I felt absolutely no attachement to them or the story. Never wanted a movie to end quicker than this one. See more Sophie H @sophie26 1d So cute I’m obsessed! Tom and Emily brought back the romcom genre! See more Andrew T @Refturner 1d Infantile & predictable. Just another sappy Hallmark or Lifetime move. No substance or meaning, offers no reason to care about the characters. A waste of 2 hours.
