Critics Consensus

A frightening tale of Satanism and pregnancy that is even more disturbing than it sounds thanks to convincing and committed performances by Mia Farrow and Ruth Gordon.

... A claustrophobic horror that taps brilliantly into the uncertainties and queasy potential threats of childbirth. Go to Full Review

The fault ultimately is in the Polanski screenplay which overlooks character for effect, disastrously. Involvement is absent; all is surface and it is a smooth one, without the shimmer of the evil that is within. Go to Full Review

Right to its bitter end, there is no escaping "Rosemary's Baby." On film Ira Levin's best selling novel is as horribly frightening as it was on paper. Go to Full Review

Rosemary’s Baby takes the little flap of cuticle and peels it all the way up to the elbow. It was clearly the inspiration for many movies and moviemakers since. While watching this, I kept drawing parallels with Hereditary. Go to Full Review

Mia Farrow's acting was superb!!! See more Buster C @BusterCapone 1 day ago Solid psychological horror movie with great performances. See more Ashequl I @Tofa13 1 day ago Rosemary’s Baby, a 1968 movie that was so great that many modern Hollywood horror films still take inspiration from it. The movie follows a couple who move into a new house. The wife is expecting a baby, and their neighbours seem like questionable characters. What happens next is the main premise of the movie. It was a great thriller, I have to say. The horror elements weren't that scary, but the psychological aspect was brilliant. The story and twists worked perfectly, and the ending was great. Some scenes were exceptionally well made. The acting was great, and the character development was good too. I loved it. A masterpiece of a film. Overall, a great watch. See more ChrisCSH H @RT12343453 2 days ago A slow burn psychological horror filled with growing paranoia and panic brought to life by the excellent acting from Mia Farrow and a entertaining and haunting story. Good acting from the main character Rosemary but other than that the plot was very underwhelming and predictable. See more Read all reviews
