Huntin P @PaxVobiscum80 Sep 28, 2026 This is the best movie set on the Santiago pilgrimage bar none. Far superior to The Way, Al final del camino, La Voie Lactee, or even I'm Off. The story is so engrossing it's possible that, like several of the characters, you may fail to notice, on the first viewing, just how beautiful the scenery is. The movie follows a walking party of nine, of which three are warring siblings chasing an inheritance, and four are teenagers, two of them present under false pretences. A remarkably emotional comedy, it is the only one, other than I'm Off, to really capture the stresses and wearisome aspects of the slog down to Compostela (2 months journey from where they start). It also captures the joy very successfully. Music is used very discreetly and always with good taste (unlike in The Way), and my only criticisms are that the movie casts aspersions on the hospitaleros in Roncesvalles and Manjarin which are simply false and unforgivable. But those are thankfully minor details. Start Walking! See more Read all reviews
