Critics Consensus

Less a return to Scream's roots than a disappointing creative regression, this seventh entry draws little blood with its dull knife of a script.

It’s no Scream. Or, indeed, The Babadook. But Kevin Williamson’s meta-slasher has solid emotional underpinning and a handful of ace scenes. Go to Full Review

This "Scream" is the dregs — a cold, tired, dreary slog through overly familiar territory. No use checking for a pulse, this victim is lifeless. Go to Full Review

The staging is clumsy and the acting is mechanical, as though the series’ reflexes have finally dulled, and there are plot holes you could drive a hearse through. Go to Full Review

The more it reminds you of the original, the more you’ll wonder why you didn’t just stay home and rewatch that one instead. Go to Full Review

Scream 7 attempts to go back to it's original roots and bringing Neve Campbell back as Sidney Prescott is amazing, but the story and Ghostface reveal falls flat. Go to Full Review

John 30m I would wait for this one to get to streaming. I won't include any spoilers but the killer/killers were surprisingly easy to identify. So much so that you come away wondering how the characters didn't figure it out. Also. it makes you wonder whether Sydney decided to post her key code on a bulletin board or something because everyone, the killer and kids had easy access to all the businesses in town. See more Marvin 44m A solid entry in the franchise. A clever gimmick is used to keep you guessing till the end. Only the killers motives will leave you scratching your head once they are revealed. See more Lisa S 1h i should've known better. haha It was corny, predictable and the new 'killers' were horrible actors. It was fun in the theatre though, I think everybody thought the same thing. "we have to see this through" - if you saw the previous 6, you had to watch 7. See more Tommy 1h I can’t honestly tell you cause I couldn’t go !! See more Steven 1h it was really good but lots of killing See more Mike 1h Ending was weak but overall a decent entry in the franchise. I’ll say on the back half of the scale for the franchise but I have seen worse. Still a fan of the overall series. See more Read all reviews
