During the summer holidays, Maks (16) and his older sister Emma (19) are sent to the Polish countryside to care for their ailing grandmother. Trapped together in the heavy, stifling isolation of the summer heat, the siblings' bond begins to shift into something unsettling and difficult to define. As tensions rise and boundaries begin to blur, their grandmother's frail presence takes on an increasingly disturbing quality, turning a once-idyllic summer into a haunting passage into adulthood.

Sick is well-made and beautifully shot, while Maks and Emma inappropriately tease each other throughout the entire film. It has shades of Lars von Trier's Antichrist, where lust and desire trump any sort of logical thought. It's also overwhelmingly vile. Go to Full Review
