Jackie F @RT44197001 1 hr ago The biggest disappointment (out of many) about this movie was the lack of cool storm footage - instead all the storm scenes just focus on the brothers bickering, and the movie does a terrible job of showing what the scale of the storm would look like from on the water. And they didn’t bother researching what ocean would be like in the eye of the storm - they depict the ocean as smooth in the eye, when obviously the ocean is still churning from the hurricane all around it - because water doesn’t magically stop moving just because it’s in the eye!! This movie was painful to watch. See more Christopher M @RT43836051 22 hrs ago While I grant that opting for the English dub probably wasn’t the move, this movie had clunky dialogue and subpar acting. Surprising that it was # 1 on Netflix for multiple weeks.. See more Me G @Ctgold 2 days ago Unfortunately, this was not a good movie. The acting was not great. I used closed caption and the translation was terrible as well. I would not recommend it. 😕 See more Elisa A @RT12726240 2 days ago Great new actors, but I feel like if you don’t watch it in Spanish, a lot of the mood won’t hit the same. Especially the homie-to-homie dialect and cultural nuances that just don’t translate through subtitles or translations. What I mostly appreciated was the class system callout. The family dynamics around the poverty line, the constant hustle, and the struggle between doing what’s right vs. what you need to do to survive financially, even when it goes against your principles. Also loved the subtle callout of wealthy families who claim to treat their employees “like family” while keeping a very clear class divide. That dynamic exists worldwide, even at the smallest level. For me, it was less about the hurricane and more about survival, inequality, family, and the complicated choices people make when they don’t have the financial luxury of sticking to their principles. The constant bickering between the brothers was too distracting. It had the potential to be a good film but fell short. I can not recommend it. See more Read all reviews
