While it's hard to do complete justice to their heartbreaking tale involving a dark, traumatic childhood, Perkins deserves all the credit for treating it with the respect and care that it deserves. Go to Full Review

It's tragic but utterly compelling viewing as director Ed Perkins allows the two men to share their stories -- and their lifelong anguish -- direct to camera before they sit down face-to-face for a final, painful catharsis. Go to Full Review

Perkins slowly builds the tension by structuring each of the first two acts around the individual brothers. That sets up a heart-shattering third act that brings every raw feeling and deeply rooted emotion to the surface. Go to Full Review

Dakota P @DaCinephile 20h Alex and Marcus’ story is tragic and raw; Tell Me Who I Am gives it space to breathe and, one can hope, dissipate from their immediate thought. The story told in the documentary saddens the heart and shows all perspectives within a shared tragedy deserve a voice and understanding. Tell Me Who I Am is an exceptional example of the way an individual’s response to trauma takes on tailored reasoning. The lack of source material beyond photographs pushes the viewing into a doldrums at times, but the point was watching the journey to resolution of twin brothers with a shared horror of which only one has the key. See more Aluna U @RT14704568 Aug 31 *Tell Me Who I Am* is a deeply personal documentary that follows two brothers as they confront painful family secrets, unfolding through a smart three-part structure. The film uses symbolic visuals and intimate storytelling to reveal emotional distance and eventual healing between the brothers. With authentic cinematography and subtle music, it offers a powerful, resonant exploration of memory and truth. What I found disturbing about this one is that a seminal moment in their lives was turned into box office TV. I found that distasteful, disturbing and frankly quite perplexing. I found this an uneasy watch beyond the terrible topic matter. There was something off about the whole premise of this being a Netflix show. Watched on Netflix. See more kelly b @RT38164675 01/30/2025 WOW WOW WOW. This had me gripped the brothers are so warming but the story of the life they have grown up in is truly heartbreaking, breath-taking and tragic. How did it go from this happy mother that on the surface is loving and caring into a monster. See more Kyle M @RT77296778 01/05/2025 One of the more shocking and simultaneously upsetting documentaries to surface 2019 from questionably twisted circumstances to underline the core belief above the topical awareness when it’s become a therapeutic platform in sympathizing the pained lengths of brotherly love for the sake of comforting resolution to newfound, rediscovered and lingering pain.
