The second half is merely morbid runaround, punctuating its soundtrack crashes with self-justifying footnotes on historical misogyny. Go to Full Review

In this horror story much closer in spirit to Stephen King's novels than to cheap horror films, Ørvedal makes us feel and live with his revenge nightmare that which others (particularly women) have lived and felt. [Full review in Spanish] Go to Full Review

The movies early, slow-burning potential is squandered by its adherence to popular genre tropes, all of which seem underwhelming after the first two-thirds. Go to Full Review

Darcy F @BusterDarcy 22 hrs ago There’s potential here but it starts to feel kinda silly by the midway point and never really goes anywhere on an emotional level. Feels like there’s a good ten or fifteen minutes of character development missing here that could have really turned this from a 6 to an 8 or 9. See more Alex B @AlexBioni 4 days ago Open Up Your Heart This is such an original film, and it completely freaked me out on my first viewing. It's basically two characters in a basement doing an autopsy, but the execution is so well done. The chemistry between Tommy and Austin feels genuine, and their father son dynamic comes across naturally. This movie is utterly gross, with body horror and autopsy scenes. Cutting into the body, breaking ribs, and looking in the mouth make it bloody disgusting. The mystery is awesome too. They piece together clues to figure out Jane Doe's cause of death, and the story spirals in a direction I wasn't expecting. Creepy bodies in the hallways, that dang bell, and the mortuary itself give me the heebie jeebies. The music adds to the creepy mood. My only real criticism is that it isn't very realistic, but honestly, I don't care. It's an entertaining ride. The pacing could be tighter, but overall, this is an excellent movie worth your time. See more Ziv B @RT72944294 Oct 24, 2026 I’m pretty desensitized to horror by now, but this movie still gets under my skin, no matter how many times I’ve watched it. So atmospheric and genuinely terrifying. I love how it leaves you wondering, "But what could our poor protagonists have done differently?" The set design, effects, visuals, acting, sound design, and writing (especially the setups and payoffs) are superb. Cannot fault this movie. See more Alyssa D @RT61796684 Oct 14, 2026 Made the mistake of watching this alone at night with the lights off! Genuinely spooked me. See more David W @Sternhammer Oct 10, 2026 Initially slow burning but expertly punctuated with some quite intense scenes and always with a building sense of dread. Ultra atmospheric with stellar performances from the cast, Cox in particular. My wife and I were utterly captivated. Superb. See more Jordan P @JordanHPost Oct 8, 2026 Great film and concepts. But the over explaining of the story was a little ridiculous. It turned into a liberal lecture about the witch trials. See more Read all reviews
