Much like a schlock villain’s final stand, Woo’s loose remake of The Killer puts up more of a fight than you’d expect before inevitably falling to truisms. Just as crime doesn’t pay, you can’t shoot the same bullet twice.

Part of the problem here is that Emmanuel just isn’t an interesting enough performer to sell the strong, silent cipher that Zee needs to be.

For all its wordiness, it does all seem worth it when Woo unleashes one of his classic, super-stylish action set pieces - mists roll, doves fly and operatic music swells on the soundtrack as characters go mano a mano in slo-mo, two-handed gun fu.

Hard To Watch. It's as if AI watched a bunch of 80s action movies that were badly dubbed from a different language and attempted to replicate it. Cartoonish Action sequences - Dialogue written by an 8th grader - soap opera styles over acting - flatlined character development - confusing music choices. I had to watch some of it at 1.5 speed to get through it all. why do they insist on remaking shit versions of movies that were perfectly good to start with?

What a disappointment! Yes, the technical elements are well made. Yes, the cast sounds impressive. But the dialogues...the incoherences in the plot...the 2-dimensional characters..is this a self-parody??

If you're looking for a nonstop action flick with great cinematography this is your flick. Lead actress is smoking hot and a killer shot , not too mention a badass martial artist and sworsdswoman. I loved every minute of it. Well except the few subtitles i had to read. Other than that 5 stars kick ass i want to watch it again right now!!

Almost slapstick how these deadly assassins hit every target but miss seemingly simple shots on the main protagonist’s. Apparently sliding on the floor or diving in a straight line towards your attacker mitigates all gun fire. It’s so hopelessly generic, it’s a remake that makes it feel more outdated than the original. Even trying to watch it in the mindset of "yes this is silly, but fun" fails because the acting and staging is so jarring it stops you being engrossed enough to ignore the god awful plot armour.

I can’t stress this enough IGNORE the other reviews. This movie was thoroughly enjoyable. Firstly great acting and chemistry between the female and male leads. Secondly, thank you John Woo for finally giving us a good action movie with great fight scenes. There was no cgi garbage in this movie - actual real stunts. Thirdly watch it for John’s iconic doves flying in the middle of a fight scene. You can thank me later.
